Somerset Landscape Sensitivity Assessment

The full landscape sensitivity assessments for the assessment parcels surrounding each settlement can be accessed here. These are structured as follows:

• An interactive map showing the settlement boundary and individual assessment areas. Using the layers tab on the map, the landscape character type/ area context and any relevant constraints and designations can be turned on and off.
• A short description of the assessment parcel, including location, the landscape character type/ area it sits within and any relevant landscape-related designations or constraints.
• A list of the key sensitivities and valued features of the relevant landscape character type/ area which would be sensitive to change as a result of residential and commercial development.
• Analysis against each of the assessment indicators, with a description and sensitivity judgement/ score given against each indicator.
• Summary of the overall landscape sensitivity for the individual assessment area, including an overall judgement/score for residential development and commercial development, including any variations in sensitivity.
• Development management guidance for the assessment areas for each assessment parcel.
